We've been home for 30 days... Now what?
Hi! Have I told you I miss you? This has been the longest 30 days that I can remember!
With so much unknown and so much still up in the air I wanted to reach out to bring you into the loop of what we know, what we think, and how we expect to move forward in the weeks ahead. I don’t have a lot of answers but I want to bring you into the conversation so you all know we are working diligently to help transition back into “real life” as smoothly as we can. *Short disclaimer* All of this is subject to change, but this is what we know at this point.
What we know:
The governor of Kansas has extended the stay at home order until May 3rd, however there has been no response yet from the CORE 4 to know if the order will be extended any further.
What we think:
New health and sanitation regulations will be put in place in salons by the state requiring that masks and gloves must be worn. Social distancing must be practiced in waiting and common areas, salon stations, and the wash rooms.
How we will move forward with setting appointments:
All previously scheduled appointments will be canceled until June 30th. This will allow us to reschedule everyone affected by our closure in a fair way.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause those who reserved appointments ahead of time, but it is the most effective way to see everyone in need.
Online booking will reopen May 1st. We will be sending you email and text reminders leading up to this date, so you have ample opportunity to reserve an appointment that works with your schedule. Allowing our guests to book themselves is the best and most efficient way to move forward in this manner. We recommend visiting our online booking page (www.vagaro.com/latherandlashsalon) to familiarize yourself with our services, what you typically have done or want to have done before the opening date. Also the service you were scheduled for prior to our closure will be in the cancellation email you receive from us for your convenience. If you have questions about what to book please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and my staff and I will do our best to guide you through everything.
My staff and I will also be open extended hours to best accommodate everyone in the most timely fashion possible.
How we will move forward when we are in the salon:
-Text the salon phone upon arrival and remain in your car
-Stylist will call you when they are ready to receive you.
-Upon entering the salon guests will need to review and sign the liability waiver or your service cannot be performed.
-For the continued safety of all, Upon entering the salon, guests will be directed to the restroom to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds.
-We must discontinue our coffee and beverage services. Small bottles of water will still be available but when possible we encourage you to bring your own.
-To continue compliance with social distancing one stylist will see one guest at a time. Please do not bring anyone with you to your appointment: children, friends, etc.
What this means for you:
Most of my guests are used to Courtney and I seeing at least two guests at a time. We have tried to efficiently serve you and honor your time in this way. However, due to new guidelines, to minimize the possibility of spreading germs we will only be able to take one person at a time. This means the number of guests I typically see in a day will be decreased by half.
The good news is you all know my assistant, Courtney, pretty well by now. She has been honing her skills with me for the last 4 months and assisting me with all of your services. Her books will now be open alongside mine to help accommodate you all with the shortest wait time possible. We also want to be sensitive to your financial needs as we have all been affected by this circumstance to some degree. If you are booking online and do not see a time with me that fits your needs, or need a different financial option, check out Courtney’s schedule. Not only do I trust her completely and feel confident in her abilities, I will be there alongside her to make sure EVERYONE is cared for.
Although we have received many new guest inquiries, we will not be accepting new guests until you all have been taken care of. You are our top priority.
Finally, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out, to everyone who has purchased gift certificates and products, to everyone who has been flexible, and to ALL of you for understanding during this extremely difficult time. Your kindness has meant the world to us as we navigate this unprecedented situation.
I know that we will all come back from this stronger, more united, with a better sense of community and gratefulness for all that we have in this life.
